‘“It’s definitely a masterpiece, though,” adds Pininfarina. “I’d consider it at the level of a Fiat Spider 124. Almost timeless.”’

Well, I’m in agreement, and I think it’s utterly remarkable that such a thing could be said about a car that’s presently selling for absolute !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! where I live.

What say you, denizens of Oppo?

I agree, but think that they look much, much better in person. Loved seeing them around France.

I think it’s pretty, but I don’t think I would go quite as far ol’ Paolo.

I agree entirely. I took the picture of the red one myself, in my work’s car park, and it’s far from the only one I’ve seen around, though I’ve only got pictures of it and this teal/sea-green example:

I still don’t understand the low prices for these. They’re great to drive (from the perspective of a comfortable large FWD coupe), they’re reliable , durable and mechanical parts are cheap.

there is so much about it that reminds me of the 505 coupe concept from 79, I just love those

Fairly rare, too, particularly in the UK. It really doesn’t make any sense.

Another Pininfarina quote:

“If you go back and look at the 504 coupé or convertible then you will see this shoulder line. There’s a lot of good Peugeot design identity in the 406.”

That is quite a sharp looking car for a 90’s coupe, especially from the rear. So many others were too rounded & generic.

I don’t know if I’d go so far as to say it’s timeless and on the level of the 124, but it really is a good looking car.
